I wear my seatbelt every time I go anywhere anyway but this law still bothers me a lot. I really don't think that its the governments place to ticket us for not wearing a seatbelt. Am I alone on this one?

A Comparison of all 2008 Presidential Candidates (and why you SHOULD vote for Ron Paul!)
Current mood: ecstatic

Written by Rad Joe

First I would like to explain why you should NOT vote for any of the other candidates.

"I have always thought the actions of men the best interpreters of their thoughts."
- John Locke

"Well done is better than well said."
- Benjamin Franklin

"People may doubt what you say, but they will believe what you do."
- Lewis Cass

"As I grow older I pay less attention to what men say. I just watch what they do."
- Andrew Carnegie

Since "actions speak louder than words," I will use each candidate's voting record (or actions) as the basis for why you should not vote for them. And because there are so many different pieces of legislation that have been considered over the years, I only picked a few from each area of 'the issues'…

THE DEMOCRATS

Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton:

– Sponsored (and voted YES for) Senate bill S Con Res 18: Unintended Pregnancy Amendment
What this amendment intended to do was increase funding to family planning services, health care, and education programs --- More taxes in violation of the 'general welfare' clause of the Constitution. ["General Welfare" means it applies to everyone, not just certain designated people]

– Voted YES on HR 2646: Farm Security and Rural Investment Act of 2002
This bill continues subsidies for farmers (government handouts, from your taxes) and increased food stamp program.

– Voted YES on HR 1571: Emergency Supplemental Appropriations Bill of 2007
The most ridiculous parts of this bill is the delegation of funds "for the war on terror" to the Department of Agriculture, Dept. of Justice, Dept. of Energy, and Dept. of Homeland Security! It also contained a clause to raise the federal minimum wage [intervening with the free market… If the minimum wage were $1000/hour, milk would cost $500]

– Voted YES on HR 2356: Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act of 2001
This bill limits the amount of money that individuals can contribute to a campaign (Senate $2000, House $1000) and bans soft money contributions to national political parties.

– Voted YES on HR 6: Energy Act of 2005
This bill authorizes the use of eminent domain to construct new or to modify existing electric transmission facilities where electric energy transmission is deemed constrained or congested by the Secretary of Energy [sanctions State confiscation of property], creates an interagency Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technical Task Force to work with the Secretary of Energy; and authorizes $1.3 billion over five years to the Task Force and Secretary to carry out developmental hydrogen and fuel cell system demonstrations [bigger federal government, more taxes to fund it], and appropriates billions of dollars to energy research and grants.

– Voted YES on HR 5005: Homeland Security Act of 2002
This bill established the Department of Homeland Security [increased the size and scope of federal government] and enacts greater centralization of government agencies.

– Voted NO on HR 5441: Firearm Confiscation Prohibition Amendment
After hurricane Katrina hit the southeast united States, Blackwater [government contracted, civilian paramilitary] went through hundreds of homes confiscating firearms from victims who were merely protecting their property from looters. This bill proposed to pass an amendment prohibiting the use of any funds appropriated in the FY2007 Department of Homeland Security Act from being used to confiscate legal firearms during states of emergency or major disasters. [Clearly, Hillary Clinton does not want Americans to be able to defend themselves.]

– Voted YES on HR 1: No Child Left Behind Act
This bill stipulates that military recruiters have guaranteed access to school premises and pupils, and implements annual testing of students grades three through eight in reading and mathematics [the effect of which has emphasized teachers to teach according to the tests, and not overall knowledge]. The results have shown that the NCLB Act has done more harm to the education system than good. Most importantly, the NCLB Act established more federal oversight of state administered education.
– Voted YES on HR 5684: U.S.-Oman Free Trade Agreement Implementation
This bill authorizes the President to modify any tariff or duty on any goods, and establishes import relief programs for domestic industries harmed by resulting imports… in other words, it delegates congressional authority to the executive branch, and subsidizes businesses and corporations [uses your tax dollars to pay businesses harmed from government intervention of the free market].
– Voted YES on HR 3162: PATRIOT Act
– Voted YES on H. J. Res. 114: Use of Military Force Against Iraq

Senator Barak Hussein Obama:

– Voted YES on HR 5684: U.S.-Oman Free Trade Agreement Implementation
– Voted YES on HR 6: Energy Act of 2005
– Voted YES for S Con Res 18: Unintended Pregnancy Amendment
His voting record show him to be a pretty 'typical' democrat when it comes to medical care (favors socialization) and poverty (favors welfare).

Senator Joe Biden:

– Voted YES on HR 3162: PATRIOT Act
– Voted YES on H. J. Res. 114: Use of Military Force Against Iraq
– Voted YES on HR 1: No Child Left Behind Act
– Voted YES on HR 6: Energy Act of 2005
– Voted YES for S Con Res 18: Unintended Pregnancy Amendment
– Voted YES on HR 5005: Homeland Security Act of 2002
– Voted YES on HR 2281: Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA)
That's nothing…see what bills Biden has introduced!

Senator Chris Dodd:

– Voted YES on HR 3162: PATRIOT Act
– Voted YES on H. J. Res. 114: Use of Military Force Against Iraq
– Voted YES on HR 1: No Child Left Behind Act
– Voted YES for S Con Res 18: Unintended Pregnancy Amendment
– Voted YES on HR 5005: Homeland Security Act of 2002

Senator John Edwards:

– Voted YES on HR 3162: PATRIOT Act
– Voted YES on H. J. Res. 114: Use of Military Force Against Iraq
– Voted YES on HR 1: No Child Left Behind Act
– Voted YES on HR 5005: Homeland Security Act of 2002

Congressman Dennis Kucinich:

– Voted YES on HR 1: No Child Left Behind Act
– Voted YES on HR 198: Iraqi Debt Forgiveness [supports foreign nation-building]
– Voted YES on HR 2350: Welfare Reform Bill [supports the Welfare State practice of government handouts / redistribution of wealth]

Mike Gravel:

Claims "we need some degree of global governance if we want to see peace." Gravel is also a strong advocate for the "Fair Tax." He has also said "We're not doing anything about Darfur and that's wrong." [That means he is an interventionist. Unfortunately, because he was a U.S. Senator so long ago, there is no voting record available online.]

THE REPUBLICANS

Senator John McCain:

– Voted YES on HR 3162: PATRIOT Act
– Voted YES on H. J. Res. 114: Use of Military Force Against Iraq
– Voted YES on HR 1: No Child Left Behind Act
– Voted YES on S. 3930: Military Commissions Act of 2006.
– Voted YES on HR 5684: U.S.-Oman Free Trade Agreement Implementation
– Voted YES on HR 5005: Homeland Security Act of 2002
See legislation introduced by McCain.

Rudy Giuliani:

After the WTC towers fell, Mayor Giuliani ordered the remains of the victims to be scooped and dumped. "Mayor Giuliani's actions meant that firefighters and citizens who perished would either remain buried at ground zero forever, with no closure for families, or be removed like garbage and deposited at the Fresh Kills Landfill...Giuliani was more concerned about the removal of gold, silver and other assets of the Bank of Nova Scotia that was buried beneath the rubble than he was of human remains " When 15 firefighters protested the mayor's blatant disregard for the victims, Giuliani had them arrested. Also, the Civilian Complaint Review Board was established against Mayor Giuliani's protests. So after receiving 4000 complaints per year, for 5 years, he slashed the CCRB budget. [Guess Rudy doesn't want to hear any opposition.] Giuliani had Yasser Arafat thrown out of the Lincoln Center, removed NYC police commissioner William Bratton for speaking freely with reporters, and banned reporters, politicians, and interest groups from the steps of city hall — before September 11th!

Mitt Romney:

It appears to me that Romney is not what he seems. He changes his stance on issues as frequently as he changes his socks. Romney signed legislation that mandates that nearly all Massachusetts residents obtain health insurance coverage, sent a letter to each member of the U.S. Senate urging them to vote in favor of the Marriage Protection Act, and filed a bill to reinstate the death penalty in cases that include terrorism, the assassination of law enforcement officials and multiple killings.Romney proposed merging the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority, the government agency that manages the Big Dig, with the Massachusetts Highway Department. Under Massachusetts law the Turnpike Authority is an independent agency that does not report to the governor. After being elected Governor, Romney called for the merger in 2003 and 2004. [Romney sought to control the MTA.]

Tommy Thompson:

While HHS Secretary, Thompson urged State legislatures to adopt the Model State Emergency Health Powers Act, which grants unprecedented and unchecked powers to the Governors of the 50 States. Under this Act, any Governor could appoint himself dictator by declaring a "public health emergency." He doesn't even have to consult anyone. As governor, Thompson racked up a reckless spending record and left residents with a $3.5 billion deficit as a going-away gift.

Senator Sam Brownback:

– Voted YES on HR 3162: PATRIOT Act
– Voted YES on H. J. Res. 114: Use of Military Force Against Iraq
– Voted YES on HR 1: No Child Left Behind Act
– Voted YES on S. 3930: Military Commissions Act of 2006.
– Voted YES on HR 5684: U.S.-Oman Free Trade Agreement Implementation
– Voted YES on HR 6: Energy Act of 2005
– Voted YES on HR 5005: Homeland Security Act of 2002

Congressman Tom Tancredo:

– Voted YES on HR 3162: PATRIOT Act
– Voted YES on H. J. Res. 114: Use of Military Force Against Iraq
– Voted YES on the REAL ID Act
– Voted YES on S. 3930: Military Commissions Act of 2006.
– Voted YES on HR 198: Iraqi Debt Forgiveness
– Voted YES on HR 2350: Welfare Reform Bill

Jim Gilmore:

While Governor of Virginia, Gilmore signed a bill into law that created a 24-hour waiting period for women seeking an abortion, required parental notification for minors seeking an abortion and banned partial birth abortion. "Jim Gilmore believes marriage is the union of one man and one woman and as President will oppose gay marriage and so-called civil unions." Mr. Gilmore is also president of USA Secure, a homeland security public policy think tank based in Washington , DC. Former Governor Gilmore was Chairman of the Congressional Advisory Panel to Assess Domestic Response Capabilities for Terrorism Involving Weapons of Mass Destruction, also known as the "Gilmore Commission," established by Congress to assess federal, state, and local governments' capability to respond to the consequences of a terrorist attack. This Commission was very influential in developing the Department of Homeland Security.

John Cox:

[There is so little information about, and no voting record for, John Cox, that this is all I could find that might raise suspicion…]
In 1981 John H. Cox founded a law firm specializing in corporate law and tax planning named John H. Cox and Associates Ltd. In addition in 1985 he founded Cox Financial Group Ltd. which specializes in investment counseling, income tax planning, retirement planning and asset protection, in 1995 he founded Equity Property Management a real estate management firm specializing in apartment rental property. [Now, to me, it looks like Cox has strong ties to corporations, and would not do much to remove or diminish the crushing grip of the income tax.] So why not vote for him? No political experience. At all.

And here's the virtually unknown candidates who have filed with the FEC, running as
Independents

James H. McCall (OH):

[Again, no voting record to base his actions, and very little information about him on the internet. From reading his views, he believes the government should be the answer to every question… just like the other candidates, he is a statist.]

Donald K. Allen (OH):

Dr. Allen is a freemason veterinarian from Illinois who spent a few years in the Air Force, and a few years as a horseshoer. He has no political experience, supports the 'war on drugs', and supports the 'Fair Tax'.

Steve Adams (KY):

Adams is a software developer from Ohio who supports the Fair Tax, supports any legislation defining marriage as strictly between a man & a woman, would like to maintain & improve Social Security. [Again: No Political Experience]

David A. Koch (UT):

[There isn't much on Koch and Goldstein (his running mate) either… No voting record means I have to use their words:]
"We will NOT sit on the sidelines and let anything like Darfur or Rwanda happen while we are in office." [interventionist] "We believe that the best way to protect our Southern border is to help Mexico achieve stable economic growth for both countries, and their citizens." [perpetuate foreign aid — government handouts!] "We believe in encouraging and supporting the arts including full funding for PBS and the NEA" [supports government-sponsored media]

John Taylor Bowles (SC):

He is a Nazi… literally! "The White People's Candidate" promises free health care coverage [which means a huge increase in taxes!] and subscribes to the belief that "National Socialism declares its goal to be nothing less than the absolute domination of the White, civilized areas of the earth by the Aryan white man and the leadership of the Aryan white man by the strongest and wisest individuals of the race." [Come on… his campaign website has swastikas all over it! Who will really vote for this self-proclaimed Nazi?!]

I only have time to mention those who have actually filed with the FEC, so you will have to wait for why you shouldn't vote for the following:

Though I do know why I wouldn't vote for

Senator Chuck Hagel:

– Voted YES on HR 3162: PATRIOT Act
– Voted YES on H. J. Res. 114: Use of Military Force Against Iraq
– Voted YES on S. 3930: Military Commissions Act of 2006.
– Voted YES on HR 5684: U.S.-Oman Free Trade Agreement Implementation
– Voted YES on HR 6: Energy Act of 2005
– Voted YES on HR 5005: Homeland Security Act of 2002
See legislation introduced by Hagel

Now, Why should you vote for Congressman Ron Paul?

Since "actions speak louder than words", let's compare Ron Paul to the other candidates mentioned above……

– Voted NO on HR 2646: Farm Security and Rural Investment Act of 2002
– Voted NO on HR 1571: Emergency Supplemental Appropriations Bill of 2007
– Voted NO on HR 2356: Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act of 2001
– Voted NO on HR 6: Energy Act of 2005
– Voted NO on HR 5005: Homeland Security Act of 2002
– Voted NO on HR 1: No Child Left Behind Act
– Voted NO on HR 5684: U.S.-Oman Free Trade Agreement Implementation
– Voted NO on HR 3162: PATRIOT Act
– Voted NO on H. J. Res. 114: Use of Military Force Against Iraq
– Voted NO on S. 3930: Military Commissions Act of 2006.
– Voted NO on HR 198: Iraqi Debt Forgiveness
– Voted NO on HR 2350: Welfare Reform Bill
– Voted NO on HR 418: the REAL ID Act

And, as a matter of fact:
– He has never voted to raise taxes.
– He has never voted for an unbalanced budget.
– He has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership.
– He has never voted to raise congressional pay.
– He has never taken a government-paid junket.
– He has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch.
– He voted against regulating the Internet.

AND

– He does not participate in the lucrative congressional pension program.

And THAT is why you should vote for Ron Paul.

Its good to see how much we learned from Vietnam,  everyone lets remember what we learned here today. You can get away with fucking over the people who defend us, just lie to them so they will volunteer and nobody at home will even notice.
